Four teams excel in Greiggs cricket weekend
Four teams registered wins in the latest round of matches in the Hairoun Brewery, Sea Operations SVG Ltd, Courtesy Sports, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs T20 Softball Cricket Competition at the Greiggs Central playing field.{{more}}
Combine Sixerz, Gomea Bombers, Nar Fren Dem and Owia Young Strikers were the successful outfits.
Combine Sixerz had a 21-run win over CGM Novice.
Combine Sixerz batted first and made 114 all out in 15.2 overs. Delorn Johnson top scored with 28. Steve Primus â 3 for 17, Newborn Joseph â 3 for 30 and Renrick Williams â 3 for 48, shared the wickets.
Novice, though, could not cross the line, dismissed for 94 in 19.5 overs.
Andre Hunte, with 32, was the bright spark with the bat, as Deroy Straugh took 2 for 5, bowling for Combine Sixerz.
Also Gomea Bombers had a seven-wicket triumph over Attackers.
Gomea Bombers, responding to Attackersâ 70, reached 71 for 3 in just eight overs.
Ovando Oâ Brien hit 23 for Gomea Bombers.
Meanwhile, Nar Fren Dem also ousted Country Meets Town Outa Trouble by seven wickets.
In a match reduced to 17 overs because of rain, Outa Trouble batted first and compiled 118 from their 17 overs. Saski Weekes, 59 and Javid Harry, 44, were the principal scorers.
Keno Matthews was Nar Fren Demâs top bowler with 2 for 29.
Nar Fren Dem then got to 121 for 3 in 15.5 overs. Kenford Collins led with 60, not out.
And, Owia Young Strikers won from Panthers by 53 runs.
Owia Young Strikers, on the back of Zanel Baptisteâs 33, scored 89 all out in 14.5 overs.
Young Strikersâ potent batting was undermined by the bowling of Kevlon Fraser, who snared 7 for 14.
But Panthersâ batting fared worse, bolted for a mere 37.
Denson Hoyte â 4 for 4 and Dill Clarke â 3 for 4, bowled their team to another victory as they go in defence of their title.(RT)
