Shem Browne takes MVP award in Mustique T/20 Cricket Competition
Hard hitting batsman Shem Browne was voted the Most Valuable Player in the 2015 Mustique Twenty/20 Cricket Competition.
One who has tasted national representation, Browne scored the most runs â 286, which included 129 not out, made against Pink House Tags.{{more}}
However, Browneâs efforts with the bat could not help his team Suranga Tama Hawks retain the title, which they won in 2014.
The new champions are Alumbrera Sweepers, who last Sunday at the Mustique Playing Field, defeated Hybrid Alliance by four wickets
Hybrid Alliance scored 156 for 8 from their 20 overs. The total was built on Benjamin Charlesâ 49 and Lennon Cainâs 38.
Roy Baptiste, 4 for 34, and Harris Edwards, 2 for 19, were Sweepersâ most successful bowlers.
In reply, Sweepers reached 160 for six off 18.5 overs, gaining a hold on the title. Leading the way were Sebastian Caesar â 41, Davian Baptiste â 35 not out and Ezekiel Welcome â 24 not out.
Lennon Cain had 2 for 25, bowling for Hybrid Alliance.
Meanwhile, the most wickets â 23, were taken by Felix Greaves of Cocoloba Star Groove, and the award for the Most Promising Player went to Anthony Hazell of Rock Masters.
