Coming face to face with the intruders – Suprizers, who evaded the dragnet in 2012, RSVG Police put up a road block in their pursuit of the title.

Sent into bat, RSVG Police posted 109 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Rolando Wright, known for his bowling ability, hit 39 and Roderick John 30, led the search party with bat.

Suprizers’ resistance came from Calvert Cordice, who grabbed 2 for 15 from his four overs.

National footballer Roy “Chicken” Richards, with a rapid response, cracked 34, but his demise saw Suprizers retreating to 96 for 6 from their maximum 20 overs. Renford Jack, 3 for 30, was the lawmen’s most successful bowler.

In reaching the finals, RSVG Police had to ward off Glen United by four wickets.

Batting first, Glen United scored 114 for 5 in 20 overs. Marcus Hackshaw hit 35 not out.

RSVG Police responded with 116 for 6 in 17.3 overs. Their innings was solidified by Gerald Gould, who cracked 51 not out.

On the other hand, Suprizers had a 12 run ousting of Valley Boys in their semi-final match up.

Suprizers were bowled out for what seemed an uncompetitive 48; David Bascombe had 3 for 17, bowling for Valley Boys.

But Valley Boys were shot out for 36 in 13.1 overs. Lex Barbour, 3 for 7, further ensured that Suprizers were getting another aim at the top spot.

The presentation of awards will take place at the opening of the 2013 Barrouallie Football League, set for Sunday August 4, also at the Keartons Playing Field.(RT)
