Stewart, 23, who is on a semi-professional stint with Trinidad and Tobago club AIA Caledonia, is on his second try-out in the north eastern European country.

The speedy Stewart journeyed to Europe in August 2011 and missed the first leg of the world cup qualifiers’ match away to Guatemala.

Before joining Caledonia in 2012, Stewart joined the Vancouver Whitecaps as a member of the club’s residency programme for 2009 to 2010 and was named the Whitecaps FC Newcomer of the Year.

He then proved his worth, gaining a place in the White Caps first team in the US Major Soccer League in 2010. However, he was relegated to the residency outfit after 19 appearances.

Stewart made his senior St Vincent and the Grenadines team debut in 2008 in the world cup qualifiers against Canada. This elevation came after an outstanding run with the Under-20 team.

Locally, Stewart has represented System 3, Campdonia Chelsea, and Hope International.

In his recent matches for St Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean Cup, Stewart scored in the team’s 2-1 win over Guyana and their 3-nil downing of Curacao in the first round.

He netted in St Vincent and the Grenadines’ 1-1 draw with Cuba in the second phase of the competition. (RT)
