Six pre-schools, the Kingstown Methodist, the Rainbow Unique, the Questelles Christian Church Pre-school, the Salvation Army, First Impression of Mesopotamia and Vinsave are part of the historic event.

Speaking briefly at Monday’s opening, La Toya Hull, representing Pine Hill, expressed her company’s satisfaction to be associated with the special event.

Hull projected that the next top Vincentian Tennis champion could emerge from the tournament.

Purely developmental, the tournament will test the pre-schoolers’ skill sets and will determine the top participating school, on Friday at the same venue.

Among the skills being assessed are run the ball to the net and back, forearm and back arm strokes, the ice cream cone drill; throwing the ball through a target, walking the ball to the net and back, bouncing the ball with the racket and rolling the ball to the net and stopping with the racket.

And, already through to the final is Vinsave, having defeated the Kingstown Methodist and the Salvation Army in Monday’s Group A action.

Vinsave compiled 97 points, ahead of the Salvation Army with 91 and the Kingstown Methodist, which totalled 86 points.

Vinsave is awaiting the winner of Group B, which will be determined on Wednesday, when First Impression, Questelles Christian Church Pre-school and Rainbow Unique Pre-school pit their skills against one another. (RT)
