Many of the affiliates were involved in last Sunday’s activities, which were mainly fun demonstrations. Among the activities were small side Football games, a Taekwondo demonstration and Boxing bouts.

Participation came from Cycling, Athletics, Basketball, Netball, Rugby and Boxing, each ensuring that its discipline was represented.

Despite not having a pool at the venue, also present was swimmer Tolga Akcayli, who has qualified for the 2012 London Olympics.

Apart from Akcayli, persons close to the sport were visible at the Sports For All Festival.

Akcayli is expected to leave for England this week, to acclimatize for the demanding Olympic Games.

The day culminated with the Olympic Day Run, which deviated from the norm of a road run and was held by making a lap around the Arnos Vale Playing Field.(RT)
