Cavaliers off the mark in BCL
Cavaliers, the longest serving Vincentian team in the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL), chalked up their first win in the 2012 competition last Saturday, when they beat another Vincentian outfit, Imperial, by four wickets at Marine A.{{more}}
Taking first strike, Imperial, who started the match with nine players, made 150 for 8 in 32.4 overs. Dixieth Palmer, with 59, made the only creditable score.
Bowling for Cavaliers, Damien Reid had 2 for 25; Mike Providence took 2 for 26 and Selwyn Caine 2 for 21.
Cavaliers, in reply, reached 153 for 6 in 26.1 overs. Albert Tesheira hit 62 not out and Captain Cameron Cuff, 26. Dixieth Palmer took 3 for 22, to close out a good all-round effort, despite ending on the losing end.
At Marine Park D, Middlesex crushed Wanderers by 182 runs. Wanderers won the toss and asked Middlesex to take first strike and Middlesex made good of the decision, as they rattled up 253, all out, in 31overs.
Freddie Roopchand fell one short of a century, making 99, which included eleven fours and three sixes. Jacob Emmanuelâs 47 and Mark Audainâs 24 added to Middlesexâs total.
Ranadaj Mc Pherson took 3 for 47, Rawl Jackman 3 for 62 and Lawrence Mason 2 for 29.
Wanderers, in reply, was bowled out for 71 in 19. 4 overs. Adam Sanford snared 3 for 21, Mark Audain 2 for 10; Dominic Audain, 2 for 13 and Kavir Singh, 2 for 23, combined to bowl Middlesex to their fifth victory and one loss thus far in the league race.(RT)
