Sween slapped with three-match ban
Victors One wicket keeper Seon Sween has been slapped with a three-match ban, after he was found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute by the Disciplinary Committee of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association, which met on May 10.{{more}}
Sweenâs ban will take immediate effect.
Sweenâs ban came as a result of his part in a brawl with ASCOâs Nicos Davis at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field on Sunday, April 22, during the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division match between the two teams.
Both players were involved in a fist fight at about 5:14 p.m., during the final stages of the match, which caused umpires Roger Davis and Dillon Child to end play immediately.
It is widely believed that such an incident is the first of its kind to have occurred at the national Cricket level.
At that point, ASCO was 142 for 6, chasing 159 for an outright win, with 1.5 overs of the mandatory 15 left, and with play possible until 5:30 pm.
The outcome of the match was to have been decided last Wednesday night at a meeting of the Executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association.
Meanwhile, another player, Donson Andrews, also of Victors One, was found guilty by the Disciplinary Committee of using abusive language. He was strongly reprimanded for his misconduct, but no sanctions were imposed on him. (RT)
