Valley Boys take Group B spot in Bagga T/20
Valley Boys last Sunday clinched the top spot in Group B of the National Lotteries Authority Bagga T/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}
Coming up against Rudyâs Electrical, Valley Boys batted first and made 121 all out in 18 overs. Winston Bascombe struck 57, to be their lead batsman. Bowling for Ruddyâs Electrical, Lesburt Jeffrey claimed 3 for 17.
In response, Rudyâs Electrical run chase finished at 107 for 8, from their allotted 20 overs.
Kesroy John led the charge with 36, but this was not enough to get his team over the hump.
Randolph Bascombe had 3 for 27, bowling for Valley Boys.
Also on Sunday, Summerset rebounded to beat Spring Village by 62 runs. Summerset posted 152 for 6, from their 20 overs. Kevin Small hit 41. Bowling for Spring Village, Casnel Morris picked up 2 for 29 and Kimalie Williams had 2 for 30.
Spring Village at their turn at the crease was dismissed for 90 in 17.2 overs. Noxell Michael was the main strike bowler with 3 for 10.
Sundayâs other intended match saw Rillan Hill claiming the points easily as Sunset did not show up.
There was one match played on Saturday, which involved Rillan Hill and Hairoun Warriors.
Continuing their late surge, Hairoun Warriors got past Rillan Hill by 24 runs.
Batting first, Warriors had compiled 123 for 5 in 20 overs, led by Kelroy Richardsâ 27 not out. Emil Small took 2 for 12, bowling for Rillan Hill.
In their run chase, Rillan Hill halted at 99 all out. Shaun Oâ Garro scored 23. Edson Gordon took 3 for 6, bowling for Hairoun Warriors.
The first round of the competition will be completed this weekend as well as the start of the elimination phase.
