The extension encompasses the entire Leeward area, stretching from North Leeward to South Leeward.
In the Senior Division, fourteen teams are competing, with six in the Norrell Under-17 Division.
The Female Division has four teams, the Western Union Masters and the Under-13 each has six teams registered.
Speaking at last Sundayâs Opening Ceremony at the Keartons Playing Field, Lydia Williams, representative of the sponsors, Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, had some words of advice for the participants.
âIn sports and in life, everyone wants to win, everyone wants to be first place, but the truth is, to win you have to prepare to win,â Williams said.
âYou need to engage in your learning experience that it is all about embracing challenges, to understand, to explore, to go beyond the ordinary, thatâs what winners do,â the Bankâs representative added.
âI am encouraging you to work hard, put everything you have into being better in spite of the circumstances, as itâs not how you start, itâs how you finish; itâs not where you are from, itâs where you are,â Williams stated.
She used the occasion to compliment the Barrouallie Sports Association for its efforts over the years, in keeping sports alive in the community.
The partnership with the Barrouallie Sports Association began in 1996, with the then National Commercial Bank (NCB).
Also addressing last Sundayâs opening were Ellwyn Phillips of Courts St. Vincent, General Secretary of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation Ian Hypolite, President of the Barrouallie Sports Association Lorson Lewis and Norrell Hull.
Lewis said that the objective of this format of the League is to form an area-based team to represent Barrouallie in national competitions.
The Opening Ceremony was followed by a feature match between a Barrouallie XI and National Club Champions, Avenues United, which ended in a one-all draw.
Matches in the competition will be played daily at the Keartons Playing Field.
