Imperial records first win in 2011 BCL
Imperial, one of four Vincentian teams participating in the 2011 Brooklyn Cricket League, recorded a win as the 2011 season bowled off last Sunday.{{more}}
Imperial took on Wanderers at Marine Park A. Wanderers scored 92 all out in 22 overs. Mohammad Omer hit 35. Bowling for Imperial, Shaddy Khan, 3 for 22, Orlando Mofford, 3 for 4, and Kester Sylvester, 2 for 9. Imperial responded with 93 for 1 from 17 overs. Jason Williams struck 56 not out, as Imperial romped to an uncomplicated nine wicket triumph.
At Marine Park C, Middlesex, another Vincentian outfit, took on Pak Kashmir. Middlesex won the toss and took first strike, scoring 198 for 7 from 35 overs. Mark Audain led the way with 53 and Avinash Ramnarine hit 35.
Bowling for Pak Kashmir, Muhammad Hussain had 2 for 28.
In reply, Pak Kashmir,199 for 6 from 33.4 overs, with Asim, 53, and Shabban Ali, 40. Newly appointed Captain of Middlesex, former USA Under-19 player Dominic Audain took 2 for 23, as Pak Kashmir by four wickets.
The other teams carrying the St. Vincent and the Grenadines flag are Queensbury and Cavalier.
This weekend, a holiday weekend in the USA, will see Middlesex playing only Warriors, as the other teams will be involved in other activities. Both Cavalier and Imperial will travel to Canada to play friendly matches. Cavalier will be in Montreal and Imperial in Toronto.
