ASCO Big Sixteen commences this weekend

The round of sixteen, the knock out phase, in the male division of the Ashburton Sports and Cultural Organisation (ASCO) Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition, commences this weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

And, one of the teams which has made to this phase, CGM Novice, recorded a massive 110 run win over Karibbean Tires Street Vybes in the final preliminary round of matches last weekend.

Batting first, Novice piled up 203 for 4 off 15 overs. Roderick John blasted 78, which included 11 sixes and 2 fours. Kentish Phillips made 48 not out and Renrick Williams chipped in with 20.

Chasing 204 for victory, Karibbean Tires Street Vybes could only muster 83 all out in 13.1 overs. Leon Quashie led the batting with 26. Bowling for CGN Novice, Harry Williams captured 2 for 12, and Norlan Williams, 2 for 17.

Also on Saturday, in the female division, RSVG Police won over Shandy Carib Clinchers by default.

In the lone game played on Sunday, Dig Deep Warriors powered their way past Ju-c Super Strikers by six wickets in a female division encounter. Ju-c Super Strikers reached 78 for 5 off 15 overs. Extras contributed 23. Kimisha Stevens took 2 for 15. In reply Dig Deep Warriors romped home in the final over with three balls to spear, reaching 79 for 4. Stacy Ann Adams scored 24 not out and Shadel Cyrus, 18. Carmel Davis picked up 2 for 16, bowling for Ju-c Super Strikers.
