In a robust display of skills, speed and at times unmasked aggression, the visitors won 25-13, as they scored five tries. The Vincentiansâ tally came from two tries, one each from Phillip Alvis and Chino Baptiste. Alvis also had a penalty.
According to the system of scoring, one try is worth five, and a penalty, three.
Captain of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines outfit, Recardo Dallaway, told SEARCHLIGHT, immediately following his teamâ s defeat, that it was down to experience, which did not favour the Vincentians.
Dallaway claimed that the Vincentians fielded four players with some experience.
Dallaway named Alvis, Justin Tittle, Hollis Green and himself, as the ones bearing the most experience.
He also lashed out at his playersâ lack of preparation, which he said showed up their low fitness level.
An obvious disappointed Dallaway revealed that it was only last Thursday, two days prior to the match, that several of the players turned up for practice; hence their inability to clearly put in place a better strategic layout of the team.
The BVI awaits the winner of the qualifier between St. Lucia and Barbados in the next phase of competition.
Also in this South Zone is Trinidad and Tobago. (RT)
