Police Two and Saints earn first innings points

Police Two and Eat Rite Saints both earned first innings points over their opponents in the two matches played last weekend, in the RBTT Premier Division of the national cricket programme.{{more}}

At Stubbs, Police Two stopped defending champion, OLA Boutique Radcliffe.

Police Two batted first and scored 227. Elron Lewis scored 50, Mc Leon Williams 44, and Rolando Wright 31.

Mahlon John took 5 for 52, Andy Harper 2 for 24 and Dyke Cato 2 for 68.

Radcliffe, in response, made 115. Wayne Harper hit a topscore of 38, Rolando Wright was the pick of the lawmen bowling, as he took 4 for 38, and Elmore Alexander got 3 for 20.

Batting a second time, Radcliffe was 212 for 8. Wayne Harper knocked 58, Drumo Toney and Jesse Ryan 34. Wright was again among the wicket takers, as he took 5 for 71 and Alex Harry 2 for 50.

And, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, Eat Rite Saints defeated Victors Two.

Sunil Ambris made 73 in Saints’ score of 187. Javon Samuel was Victors Two’s lead bowler with 6 for 52.

Victors Two made 117 in response. Kishore Shallow was the lead batsman with 51, as the evergreen Walford Ambris picked up 5 for 20 with his trundlers and Kentish Phillips took 3 for 34.

In Saints’ second innings of 111 for 8 declared, Devane Warner made 64. Javon Samuel (3 for 34), Konnard Adams (2 for 13) and Javed Harry (2 for 23) shared the bowling honours for Victors Two, who were asked to make 181 to win.

At the close, they were 80 for 7. Jenry Ollivierre hit 35. Kentish Phillips claimed 3 for 25, as did Isaac Haywood. (RT)
