NLA Baga T/20 Softball Competition in full flight

The 2011 National Lotteries Authority Baga T/20 Softball Cricket Competition had a full quota of matches last weekend, at the competition’s venue, the Keartons Playing Field.{{more}}

On Saturday, Keartons United made light work of Kingdom Life Ministries (KLM), beating them by 92 runs. Keartons batting first reached 131 all out in 16.4 overs. Cuthbert Ashton struck 26. Demol James was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 for 36. KLM at their turn was dismissed for 39. Maxian Richardson grabbed 4 for 7.

The second match on Saturday saw Police defeating Splendour Boys. The lawmen, batting first, made 161 of the allotted 20 overs, with last year’s top batsman Salvan Browne scoring 42. Splendour Boys replied with 83 all out in 14 overs. Marlo Marshall topscored with 29, while Kenroy Martin and Elmore Alexander grabbed 4 for 23 and 4 for 29 respectively.

On Sunday, Hill View thumped Topsidaz by 79 runs. Hill View posted a total of 110 in 19.1 overs. Shemrock Pierre of Hill View made 26. Topsidaz was shot out for 31 in 11.5 overs. Rayburn Dickson, Reginald Richardson and Devon Dickson all took three wickets each.

Also on Sunday, Glen United whipped newcomers Future Legends by a whopping 172 runs. Glen United amassed 193, with Mikey Duncan scoring 78 not out. Future Legends could only reach 21 in 19.4 overs. Kiko Matthews bagged 5 for 7.

And the final game of the weekend saw last year’s runners up Suprizers beat Circumstances.

Suprizers took first strike and made 155 after 20 overs. A boundary-filled 42 by Anton Ceasar was the highlight of Suprizers’ innings.

Kenvel Samuel took 3 for 35. Circumstances was stifled for 63 for 8 in their 20 overs, with Dillon Duncan being the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 13.
