CMC, LIME offer live coverage of ICC Cricket World Cup

Cricket lovers in St.Vincent and the Grenadines and three other Caribbean countries are able to follow the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011coverage live, courtesy telecommunications provider, LIME, and the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC).{{more}}

Both organizations have teamed up to bring the World Cup to over 200,000 households in Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Jamaica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

CMC is broadcasting a total of 49 games over a 37-day period, ending April 2. The final game will be played on that day at the world-famous Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India. India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are hosting the tournament, with 14 nations split into two groups of seven for the first round. West Indies is in Group B with India, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Television viewers here have been tuning in to SVG TV to follow the coverage, while those in Antigua have been doing so on ABS, Grenada GBN TV and Jamaica CVM TV.

LIME has a long history of association with sport in the Caribbean. The company enjoyed a record 20-year sponsorship of the West Indies cricket team. More recently, LIME has also entered into a historic arrangement to provide regional television coverage of the CARIFTA Games, the region’s premier track and field competition.
