Simple Boys record easy win

Ken’s Plumbing and Associates Simple Boys recorded two wins back to back last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

Playing both matches last Saturday, Simple Boys first took care of Glen United, then beat Just For the Fun.

Stein Joseph led Simple Boys’ batting with 82. Nicos Davis hit 40 not out, as they posted 151 for 4, from their 20 overs.

Ricky King, 2 for 23, and Flex Baptiste, 2 for 42, shared the bowling honours for Glen, who responded with 124 for 8 from their 20 overs.

Marcus Hackshaw knocked 46 and Henderson Morgan, 18, as they lost by 27 runs.

Simple Boys followed that up with a 74 run triumph over Just For the Fun.

Batting first, Simple Boys made 147 for 7 off 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain.

Desron Maloney hit 46 and Stein Joseph 28.

Just for the Fun replied with 73 for 7 from their 15 overs.

Roneil Jeffrey made 30 and Cameron Harry, 15. Eldon Morris took 2 for 4, bowling for Simple Boys.

And, Young Strikers defeated Mc’s Little Saints by 57 runs.

Young Strikers posted 134 all out from 17. 2 overs. Zimroy Baptiste 22 and Shawn Henry, 20, were the main contributors.

Bowling for Mc’s Little Saints, Mikhail Toussaint bagged 4 for 13, and Amos Clarke 2 for 20.

Mc’s Little Saints innings stopped at 77. Zoro Toussaint hit 20, and there was 15 each from Jason Jackson and Fitzroy Shallow. The lead bowler for Young Strikers was Zimroy Baptiste with 4 for 13, and Denrick Henry chipped in with 3 for 24. (RT)
