West Indies Women’s Cricket Finals tomorrow
The finals of the 2010 West Indies Cricket Board Senior West Indies Womenâs Cricket Competition takes place tomorrow at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.{{more}}
Host St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Jamaica, Barbados and defending champions Trinidad and Tobago advanced to yesterdayâs semi finals, with St. Vincent and the Grenadines going up against the powerful Jamaicans at Arnos Vale Two.
Jamaica finished their preliminary round with a one hundred percent victory record.
The other semi pit Trinidad and Tobago against Barbados at the main Arnos Vale venue.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines coasted to a five wicket win over Guyana at Arnos Vale One on Sunday. The Vincentians reached 116 for 5, in reply to Guyanaâs 115.
Player of the Match Cordel Jack scored 21 to add to her 2 for 17, when Guyana batted. Melissa Billingy hit 23.
In Guyanaâs innings, Terisha Lavia was the most successful bowler for St. Vincent with 3 for 8. Samantha Lynch picked up 2 for 16.
The Jamaicans crushed Dominica by 148 runs.
Jamaica posted 189, then dismissed Dominica for 41.
At Arnos Vale Two, Barbados beat St. Lucia by eight wickets.
St. Lucia was routed for 47, and Barbados reached 48 for 1 in reply.
Barbados captain and fast bowler Shakera Selman took 5 for 24 while Kyshonna Knight took 2 for 8.
There was a no decision at Victoria Park between defending champions Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada because of heavy rains.
Grenada made 71, and Trinidad and Tobago was 7 without loss, when rain put paid to proceedings.
In the play offs that were also set for yesterday, Monday, at Stubbs, Grenada faced St. Lucia and at the Victoria Park, Guyana was to have met Dominica.
Besides tomorrowâs grand finale, the losing semi finalists and the losers of the play off will also be engaged for positions third to eighth. (RT)
