Cavaliers unstoppable in Brooklyn Cricket League

Last Sunday at Marine Park C, in Brooklyn, New York, Cavaliers handed a severe beating to Imperial in an all Vincy clash.
Taking first strike, Imperial scored 221 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs, a recovery after they were 130 for 9.
Andy Douglas, 51 not out, Colville Browne, 33 not out, and Arthur Caines, 30, were the main scorers.
Cameron Cuffy took 4 for 51,and Timothy Warner, 2 for 22.
Replying, Cavaliers made light work of the total, scoring 223 for 1 in 28 overs.
Albert Texeira, a former St.Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards left handed batsman, hit 98 not out R. Ramphal retired hurt on 45, and Michael Providence, 34 not out.
Prior to Sundayâs loss, Imperial suffered another defeat at the hands of Diplomats on Saturday. Diplomats, a Guyanese outfit, scored 330 for 6 in 40 overs. Romano Dean, 95, Selwyn Ramphal, 58, Selwyn Smith, 49, Frank Mendonca, 37, and Richard Coates, 35 not out.

Imperialâs 206 for 9 was not enough to give them the win they needed, despite Foster Lewisâ 116. Andre Kirton took 6 for 45.
Middlesex also went another one up last weekend when they faced Brooklyn Knights. Brooklyn Knights made 124 all out. Adam Sanford, with 3 for 16, Insat Khan, 3 for 38, and Mark Audain, 2 for 27, were the chief wicket takers for Middlesex.
In reply, Middlesex lost their first five wickets for only 35 runs, then it was 70 for 6, but Rod Michael, and Daren Denis, guided Middlesex to victory. Denis 30, and Michael, 20 not out, were the main run makers, as Middlesex won by three wickets.
Also engaged last weekend was Queenbury; they like Imperial had double defeats. In their first game, Challenger batted first and made 239 for 9.
Bruno Henry took 2 for 63.
Queenbury was bowled out for 99 runs, 140 short of the target. Joseph Shortte, 34, and Layne Edwards, 30, were not enough to save Queenbury.
Temoor Haider bagged 5 for 21 On Sunday Queenbury again went under this time to Carriacou.
This Fourth of July weekend while the BCL will be in full swing, the Vincy outfits are all off, while many of the players will be travelling to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to take in Vincy Mas.
