Samuel is Player of the Tournament
Vincentian Tamara Samuel was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in the 20th edition of the ECCB OECS Under-23 Netball Championships, which concluded here last Wednesday evening at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.{{more}}
The soft spoken Samuel was the fulcrum of the Vincentian team and answered the call, when the team needed her most. She played a pivotal role in St. Vincent and the Grenadines come from behind draw against Grenada on Tuesday night. Samuel played in several positions during the five-day championships, but is a preferred Goal Attack. She was also her teamâs Most Valuable Player.
Lottisha Cato of Grenada was the Most Accurate Shooter, and was the Shooter with the most goals.
Kittian Sherica Francis was adjudged the Best Defending Player and Grenadaâs Tanna Calliste, the Best Centre Court player.
St. Kitts took the awards for the Best Shooting Average and the Best Defending Average.
Nevis walked away with the Most Disciplined Team award.
Completing the MVPâs for each team, Cato snapped up the award for Grenada, Charlene Wetherhill took it for Antigua and Barbuda, with Sherlene Remy, the recipient for Dominica.
Nevisâ choice of MVP was Shennetta Skeete, with Michelle Liburd taking it for St. Kitts and for St. Lucia, Roxanne Synder.
