Race on in the RBTT Premier Division Cricket Championship

The race is on in the RBTT Premier Division of the National Cricket Competition. The three contenders: OLA Boutique Radcliffe, MVC Rivals and Victors One could be in for photo finish.{{more}}

Radcliffe is on 76 points with one match in hand, while Victors One and Rivals are locked on 60 points, with two matches in hand, including a meeting this weekend against each other.

Last weekend, Rivals advanced their cause with a first innings triumph over Radcliffe.

Drumo Toney topscored with 35, Dellorn Johnson hit 32, as Radcliffe posted 204. Orlanzo Jackson grabbed 5 for 55, Roland Wilkinson, 3 for 43, and Deighton Butler, 2 for 32.

Rivals made 232 for 6 in reply. Butler hit 54, Casmond Walters struck 53 not out, Hyron Shallow, 50 not out, and Teron Harper, 39. Dyke Cato picked up 4 for 81.

At the other end of race, the News Spartans gained first innings from Police Two.

Nixon Mc Lean contributed 58, Darnley Joseph, 51, and Kissinger Mc Lean, 37. Renford Jack bagged 4 for 32, bowling for the lawmen.

Police’s innings stopped at 191. Mc Leon Williams struck 58 and Salvan Browne, 55. Teron Simon took 5 for 52, Kissinger Mc Lean, 2 for 20, and Sherwin Mapp, 2 for 42.

At the close, Spartans was 46 for 3.

Bottlers First Division

ASCO One beat Pastures by 119 runs. ASCO made 145, with Darren Greaves making 45 and Vernardo Primus, 35. Darrel Lyttle got 4 for 20 and Isaac Trimmingham, 3 for 29.

Pastures was bowled out for 119. Andre Hunte snared 5 for 31 and Diego Laprimeraveira, 4 for 19.

Batting a second time, ASCO One made 154 for 8 declared. Greaves hit 85. Damal Phillips took 5 for 37.

Chasing 181 for Victory, Pastures was shot out for 61. Andre Hunte picked up 4 for 15, Primus, 2 for 8, and Laprimeraveira, 2 for 12. (RT)
