Already through from Group A are Breakaway Masters, Browne’s Hardware SESCO, Calliaqua and Scotia Bank South Leeward.

Group B sees Computec/ Comsports Vincy Masters already securing a place to the next round, the elimination round.

Vintage Gold, Je Belle, G and T Enterprises Sion Hill and Layou were in battle for the other three quarter final places.

Sion Hill put themselves in good standing to challenge for a spot when they crushed Bequia Masters 8-0 on Tuesday. Bill Edwards netted seven of the goals and Daswell Cambridge scored the other.

But, the competition came to its zenith last Friday evening when Breakaway faced SESCO in an epic battle.

In one of the most entertaining matches of this year’s competition, Breakaway Masters edged out SESCO 4-3, with Randy Pierre netting all four goals for Breakaway. Scoring for SESCO were Dexter Walker, Dwight Williams and Agustus Williams.

One notable omission from the quarter-finals is last year’s champion, African Tref, who lost four of their six matches.

The semi finals are slated for next Friday, May 7, with the third place play off, and final set for Sunday, May 9, at the competition venue, the Victoria Park. (RT)
