Courts continues sponsorship of OECS Netball Championship

Courts OECS continued their generosity when it comes to assisting the development of sports in the region, by presenting a cheque to the OECS Sports Desk during a recent ceremony held at Courts St. Lucia Ltd Flagship Store on the Chaussee Road in Castries.{{more}}
The cheque to the OECS Sports Desk goes towards the sponsorship of the Courts Champion of Champions Netball Tournament to be held in St Kitts from May 19-24.
Managing Director of Courts OECS, Malcolm Burns, pointed out Courts has a long association with Netball dating back to the mid 1980âs and that the company is very happy continuing that association and confident that the tournament will be an outstanding success.
OECS Sports Coordinator, Denis James, expressed delight on behalf of the OECS Secretariat at having Courts coming back on stream to sponsor and partner with them in the OECS Champion of Champions Club Netball Tournament.
James referred to Netball as the only all female sport in the Caribbean and feels investing in these young ladies is one of the best things to happen to the OECS Sports Desk at this time. He thanked Courts for being good corporate citizens and extending their social responsibility to customers.
The tournament has paid dividends. James said it has brought about a lot of changes in the young ladies and some of them have been selected to play on the West Indies representative Team.
Before exiting the podium, James called on other businesses in the region to take a page from Courts by investing in young people and the positive things they do which leads them away from crime, violence and delinquency.
