Bentinck hits another century

Following on the heels of his historic 247 five weeks ago, Raydon Bentinck has hit another century in the Bottlers First Division of the national Cricket competition.{{more}}

The left hander this time scored 109 in Smashers’ second innings against the Neil Williams Academy at the North Union Playing Field. But he was not alone, as Ronald Scott hit an even 100, and Kuthbert Springer 53 not out, to push their team to 293 for 2.

Their contribution set up Smashers to push for a come from behind win.

The Academy was forced to hold on for dear life on 99 for 9, after being set 224 to win. Courtney Joyette was the wrecker with 4 for 17, and Marvin Harry 2 for 35.

Bentick was also the first innings topscorer with 38, as his team posted 135. Marvin Harry added 30, as Ian Allen bagged 5 for 21, Zane Edwards 3 for 25 and Kendall Hinds 2 for 33.

In reply, the Academy scored 205. Timothy Warner made 45, and Ian Allen 30, as Harry picked up 5 for 51 and Keswerth Lewis 2 for 61.

In the other fixture, Eat Rite Saints on a mission to return to the RBTT Premier Division cleaned up Hairoun Beer North Leeward by an innings and seven runs.

Saints scored 175 for 5 declared. Felix Greaves 68 and Kenroy Peters 50. Jamal Nash took 3 for 33.

North Leeward responded with 73, as Peters grabbed 4 for 28 and Amreal Bobb 3 for 18.

And, batting a second time was bowled out for 95. Kevin Small hit a topscore of 30, as Peters took 3 for 21, Greaves 3 for 28 and Ted Roberts 2 for 4, to lead their team to another set of maximum points. (RT)
