His time was 30 minutes – 46.65 seconds. Taking the second spot was another seasoned campaigner, Albert Quammie. His clocking was 31 minutes 03.18 seconds.

And, making a breakthrough is the relatively newcomer, Kenute George, who filled the third spot in 31 minutes – 08.58 seconds.

Six other cyclists competed in this category.

In the Mountain Category of Saturday’s race, Marlon Mc Intosh won in a time of 40 minutes – 65.40 seconds, with the next competitor Shewain James, second in 41 minutes – 43.64 seconds.

In was then the turn of the grueling 36 miles Georgetown to Orange Hill and return, which took place on Sunday.

Having to traverse the course nine times, the comeback kid, Marlon Antrobus, was the first to complete the distance. Antrobus’ time was 1 hour, 47 minutes – 23.81 seconds, beating Shimano Bailey into second spot. Bailey clocked 1 hour, 47 minutes – 46.74 seconds, and third was Durrant 1 hour, 47 minutes – 48.68 seconds. Bailey won a similar event staged in that area back in February. (RT)
