Hackshaw clobbers a century

Versatile sportsman Cosmus Hackshaw clobbered 126 not out to lead West Side Knockers to 203 for 3 last Sunday, as the Hairoun Beer Bequia 20/20 Competition resumed at the Clive Tannis Playing Field.{{more}}

Hackshaw, also an accomplished basketballer for Gladiatorz in the Bequia Division One Competition, was assisted by Jefferson Richards who made 32. Bowling for French Terrace School Boys, Timothy Warner took 4 for 25.

Richards had figures of 3 for 8 and Wendell Gregg, 2 for 17, as the school boys folded for 68, losing by 135 runs. Also in winner’s row was Youth Combined. They recorded a 65 run triumph over De Graduates. Shirlon Pompey, 54, Dominic Stowe, 45, and Mc Neil Morgan, 36, all combined their batting efforts to see Youth Combined to 219. Orson Ollivierre, 2 for 24, and Bruce Ollivierre, 2 for 41, were the leading lights with the ball for De Graduates.

In reply, De Graduates stopped at 154, with Orson Ollivierre making 31 and Orlanzo Billingy, 29. Pompey, 2 for 18, and former St. Vincent and the Grenadines Under-19 spinner, Jenry Ollivierre, 2 for 23, returned notable bowling figures.

And, Combine Stars eeked out a last ball win over Church Boys. Brendon Duncan topscored with 63, as Church Boys reached 171.

Garfield Sargeant was the lead bowler with 4 for 25 and Ronald Stowe snared 4 for 29. At their turn at the crease, Combine Stars scrambled home at 175 for 7, winning off the last ball of their 20th over.

Jodon Ollivierre shepherded his team’s innings and was left not out on 43, Craigg Wallace made 33. Errol Gurley took 2 for 10, bowling for Church Boys. (RT)
