Dimitri Williams is prepared to put his best foot forward to win the World Natural Bodybuilders Federation (WNBF) Mr. Universe trophy.

Williams, a member of the SVG Amateur Bodybuilder, Core Lifting and Fitness Federation, will take part in the WNBF Mr. Universe competition on June 20th in Barbados.{{more}} Williams will participate in the light weight category, which includes bodybuilders under 160 pounds.

Williams, who has been doing intensive training for the competition, said that the 6-day-a-week training sessions include weight lifting and aerobics.

President of the SVG Amateur Bodybuilder core lifting and fitness federation, Steve Victory, explained that in the lightweight competition the judges will pay close attention to the proportion of the body, how well it is developed and the separation and quality of muscles.

Williams believes that he will be ready for the competition. “I was born ready,” he said. Williams qualified for the WNBF competition after placing second in the National Bodybuilding Championship last year. Williams started his bodybuilding career four years ago and has been involved in three local competitions so far. The winner of the competition will receive a trophy and the status of a professional bodybuilder, a title that means a lot to the 23-year-old Langley Park, Georgetown, resident. However, Williams is ready to accept whatever place he takes in the competition. “If it is meant to be, it is meant to be…if it is God’s will, it is his will,” he said.(OS)
