The law enforcers copped the 500m female walk title, the Lime and Spoon race, in both the male and female categories, as well as the Bean Bag event, the 50m Shuttle and the Horse Back Ride. The lawyers won the 1,000m walk.

In the Fifteen15 cricket match which climaxed the day’s proceedings, Lawyers, led by Renrick Cato’s 83, posted 121 for 1. Cato slammed 7 sixes and 5 fours. Jomo Thomas added 18, which included 14 singles.

In response, Police struggled to 76. Commissioner Keith Miller led from the front with 23, inclusive of a six and 2 fours, and Elvis Browne knocked 18.

Police walked away with the major trophy for topping the table, with gold and silver medals given for the individual events.

The occasion formed part of the annual law week celebrations, and also included table games, mainly Dominoes. The children were also involved in fun games and had a Bouncing Castle at their disposal.

On hand were High Court Judges Monica Joseph and Frederick Bruce Lyle, who took in some of the action.

President of the Bar Association, Nicole Sylvester, and Commissioner of Police, Keith Miller, gave reciprocal commendations for both organisation’s efforts to work together.

However, Sylvester expressed slight disappointment at the turn out of members of her fraternity. (RT)
