Shanty team takes top spots in Hairoun domino competition

Kingstown-based team Shanty created domino history over the weekend when they took the first three places in the Hairoun Pairs Domino competition.{{more}}

The Tournament, which took place at Pier One, in Kingstown, saw sixty pairs vying for the number one spot.

At the end of the day, the pair of Cephas Bowens and Samuel Toney emerged victorious, defeating teammates Garvin Mattis and Bernard Bailey in the process.

With the win, Bowens and Toney walked away with ten cases of Hairoun Beer and other prizes, while Mattis and Bailey secured five cases of Beer for their efforts.

Third placed Lloyd John and Joel Pompey, also of Shanty, took home three cases of Beer.

Fourth placed pair, the brother team of Ellis and Alex Davis from the Heavy Hitters team won two cases of beer.

The next item on the domino calendar is the Guinness home and away Tournament, which is scheduled to begin early next year.

This Tournament is expected to feature the introduction of the three hand classic. (JJ)
