Canouan Islanders wins Netball Tournament

The Grenadines Netball Tournament came to an end last weekend on the Grenadine Island of Canouan, with Raffles Resort Canouan Islanders taking the winner’s trophy.{{more}}

The Canouan women won from Ocean Life Girls, of Bequia, in an exciting finals match on Saturday, November 8. Marcia Gordon shot the Most Goals in the tournament – 134 from 173 attempts.

Present at the Closing Ceremony were Nelson Hillocks, representing Ministry of Sports and the Sports Division, Gilbert Madhavan, General Manager of Raffles Resort, Area Representative Terrence Olliverre, and Woodrow Williams. MVP of the Tournament went to Nicollette Snagg of the winning team. Trophies were also given to the MVP of each team: Bequia Community High School – Maurissa Andrews; Ocean Life Girls – Marcia Gordon; Carriacou – Andrea Mathwrine; Union Island Secondary School – Shenelle Thomas; Union Island – Shurnel Tittle; Canouan – Nicolette Snagg.
