Knock Out time in NLA 20/20 Cricket Competition

The space at the top of the National Lotteries Neil Williams 20/20 Cricket Competition can only be occupied by one of eight teams which have reached the quarter final stage.{{more}}

Six matches were completed last weekend. Police won from Digicel Neil Williams Academy by six wickets. The Academy made 112 for 8 from their 20 overs. Allandee Ballantyne struck 22. Kenroy Martin, 2 for 19, Elmore Alexander, 2 for 20.

Uroy Farrell hit 55, laced with four fours and three sixes, Mc Leon Williams, 38, as Police replied with 118 for 4 off 13 overs. Joelano Neil, 2 for 16, bowling for the Academy.

The defending champion, Victors One, beat North Leeward by 16 runs. Victors, 112 for 7. Alston Bobb, 35 not out, Kenny Stapleton, 24. Christopher Trumpet, 2 for 26, Leon Mc Allistar, 2 for 23.North Leeward reached 96 for 7 off their 20. Elron Lewis, 24. Keiron Cottoy, 3 for 18.

Victors One also beat Belmont. Cottoy, 57 not out, made up of six fours and a six, Donwell Hector, 32, as their team posted 152 for 7. Jerome Samuel, 2 for 6, Adolphus Campbell, 2 for 13, Curtis King, 2 for 44. Belmont, 75 for 8 off 20 overs. Hector and Cottoy both had figures of 2 for 10.

Belmont also lost to Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors.

Belmont posted 99 for 8 from their 20 overs. Troy Harry made 32, Augustus Mofford, 27. Samuel Holder, 2 for 11, and Samuel Byam, 2 for 20. Unique Warriors replied with 101 for 4 off 13.4 overs. Desron Lavia, 50 not out, which included four sixes. Campbell had 2 for 29.

MVC Rivals whipped Eat Rite Saints by 35 runs.

Rivals, 133 for 6 from their 20. Hyron Shallow, 40, Nicholas Baptiste, 32. Walford Ambris, 2 for 19, Kishore Shallow, 2 for 30.

Saints could only make 98 in their allotment of 20 overs. Ameal Bobb topscored with 19. Roland Wilkinson was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 19.

The other scheduled match saw Victors Two gaining easy points from ASCO, who failed to show up.

The quarter finals, set for this weekend will see Rivals versus Victors Two at Arnos Vale on Saturday from 9:30 am, and from 2pm at the same venue ECGC Radcliffe faces Unique Warriors.

On Sunday, Eat Rite Saints faces Police from 10 am, with Victors One meeting Bequia Combined from 2pm, also at Arnos Vale. (RT)
