Having defeated the FirstCaribbean International Bank and Cable & Wireless in the Quarter Final and Semi-Final rounds, the Council kept the foot on the accelerator to get over the finish line ahead by defeating the National Commercial Bank 1 in the Final.

Batting first, the Council put up an imposing 88 for 5 in their allotted 8 overs. SVG all rounder Alston Bobb top scored with 29, with William (Bill) Edwards and veteran Lance John supporting with 19 and 12, respectively.

Randy Lawrence was NCB’S top marksman, taking 2 for 23. NCB made a spirited 63 for 5 in response with Emil Anthony leading the way with 20, supported by Newborn Joseph with 18. Lauren Baptiste, Samantha Lynch, Oswald Griffith and Captain Ian Allen kept the Bankers in check with 1 wicket each.

Fourteen teams participated in the 2008 Tournament which has been organized by the Rotary Club of St.Vincent South for the past ten years. Proceeds are earmarked for the ongoing Rotary South/International Hospital for Children programme.

Kendras Aluminium Products Clean Cutters were the 2007 double title holders but took a quarter final exit this time around.
