Grenadines Hoops bounce off today

Defending Champions Union Island All-Stars, and the other five All-Star teams from the Grenadines look forward with great anticipation to the Annual Grenadines Hoops Championships, scheduled to bounce off today, Friday, May 16th, at the Ashton Hard Court in Union island.{{more}}

All six teams play this evening with Bequia All-Stars challenging Mayreau Kings in game 1, starting at 5:30 pm. Carriacou and Canouan Islanders face off in game 2, and Union Island and Mustique Icon play game 3 at 9:30pm. The official parade of teams and opening ceremony takes place Saturday night, May 17th, at 5:00pm.

All-star teams from Bequia, Canouan, Carriacou, Mayreau, Mustique, and Union Island are registered to compete in this prestigious national championship, which gives the talented players of the Grenadines the opportunity to play at a high level.

The Bequia Basketball Association hosts the tournament, with corporate sponsors Grenadines Airways, Sprite, Adonal Foyle, Frangipani Hotel, Karib Cable and Tamarind Beach Hotel partnering in the effort.

The tournament concludes on Sunday, June 1st, in Bequia, with the Finals and trophy presentation, trophies courtesy of Adonal Foyle. There will be Games in Union Island May 16th to 18th; Games in Canouan, May 24th to 25th. and games in Bequia, May 31st to June 1st.
