Central played unbeaten in the four way match up. Sporting a blend of old stagers in Roy Hamilton and Vincent Skerritt, along with the energetic Bradford Duncan and some emerging talent, Central cruised past their opponents with consummate ease.
On the opening night last Friday, they got past Leeward, 99 to 87, and on Saturday swamped Windward, 114 to 58. On Sunday, they closed out Bequia All Stars 74-48.
Other results showed Bequia beating Windward 72-68; Leeward took out Bequia 75-70; while Leeward got past Windward 73-65.
Leeward finished second with two wins and a loss. Bequia had one win while Windward lost all three matches. Shines Providence was voted the Most Valuable Player for Leeward; Stephen Taylor copped that award for Central, with Craig Friday receiving the honours for Bequia and for Windward, it was Julius Keir. This was the second edition of the Whitsuntide championships. (RT)
