Duncan almost singled handedly powered Ball Dawgz to a 94-85 triumph over Barrouallie Patriots in the final of the Vinlec Super Eight play offs.
He scored 49 of Ball Dawgzâs total, in what was a less than impressive final.
Ball Dawgz led 20-18 at the end of the first quarter. It was 46-44 at the end of the second, with Ball Dawgz keeping their marginal lead in tact.
The third period of play proved to be the decisive ten minutes, as Ball Dawgz out scored the Patriots to establish a twelve point lead. In the third quarter, Ball Dawgz scored 24 to the Patriotsâ 14, as the third quarter ended 70-58, still in Ball Dawgzâs favour.
But the Barrouallie players had only themselves to blame, as they paid more attention to the standing officials, questioning their calls, rather than concentrating on what made them keep the match almost even at the half.
However, Barrouallie Patriots somehow pulled themselves together and made a late surge, and came within touching distance with the scores at 82-78, and three minutes eight seconds remaining. But Barrouallie could not finish off their opponents, as the match petered out into a benign finish.
For Barrouallie, Westwick Williams was their high hand with 25 points. Liston Barbour followed him up with 23 points.
Fitz Hughes Eruptions was adjudged the Most Disciplined Team. The Patriots had advanced over Biabou and Ball Dawgz triumphed at the expense of Eruptions in the semi finals.(RT)
