Under-15 tourney gets going

As soon as the dust settles on the carnival festivity, this country’s Under 15 cricketers will have a different focus. They will be looking to win the Frank Mason Trophy.

Competition begins Thursday, July 7, with North Windward playing South Windward at Stubbs while Central Windward takes on Marriaqua at North Union. {{more}}

Defending champion North Leeward takes on Kingstown at Petit Bordel while St. George plays South/Central Leeward at Arnos Vale Two.

The show down resumes Friday July 8 with North Windward and Marriaqua meeting at Stubbs, while Central Windward and South Windward will be locked in battle at North Union.

Zone B drama that day will see North Leeward and St. George clash at Sion Hill and Kingstown taking on South/Central Leeward at Arnos Vale two.

In the scheduled set for Saturday July 9, North Windward and Central Windward meet at North Union, with South Windward and Marriaqua also vying a place for a semifinal spot.

North Leeward and South/Central Leeward meet at Petit Bordel while St. George and Kingstown square off at Arnos vale Two.

The two top teams from each zone meet in semifinal matches July 11 with first placed in Zone 1 meeting a second placed Zone 2 squad at Arnos Vale Two while a vice versa clash is set for Stubbs.

The final is scheduled for Wednesday July 13 at Arnos Vale Two.

From this tournament, 30 players will be chosen to take part in training sessions for possible selection to an Under 15 team. That Vincentian party will be in an Under 15 competition involving their Windwards counterparts fixed for December.

A Windwards Under 15 team will be chosen to take part in the West Indies Under 15 tournament expected to take part in Guyana Easter next year.
