Franklyn hits ton in Leeward cricket

Orville Franklyn with a blistering 122 guided his team Enforcers to a five wicket win over Cool Veterans at Petit Bordel last Sunday. Franklyn’s knock steered Enforcers to 207 for 5 off 27 overs.

That was in reply to Cool Veterans 206 all out off 32. 3 overs. Phillip Anthony 78 was the main run getter for Cool veterans with Charles Burke 39 providing valuable support. Cuthbert Harry 4 for 31 was the chief wicket taker for Enforcers. {{more}}

At Troumaca Bay, Ajuba Two defeated Troumaca Young Strugglers by 175 runs.

Ajuba Two batting first chalked up 251 all out off 31 overs. Rydan Lampkin 81 was the top scorer for Ajuba Two, with Kimal Williams 37, also contributing.

Javon Samuel 5 for 49 was the pick of the bowlers for Young Strugglers. They folded for 76 off 12 overs. Coboy Caesar 3 for 37 did most of the damage.

Smokey and Peto Stars will be in a home clash at Petit Bordel Saturday June 25, followed by Somerset against Ajuba One again at Petit Bordel Sunday 26 June 2005.

Eleven teams in two Zones are taking part in the tournament. Ajuba One, Ajuba Two, Enforcers, Somerset advanced to the quarterfinals. Cool Veterans and Young Strugglers with one victory each have to put up their gears until next year.

Zone one features defending champion D’Affairs, Peto Stars, Smokey, Troumaca United and Rangers. The top four from each Zone advances to the quarterfinal.
