Ollivierre riding high

Dominic Ollivierre, one of this country’s all round sport personalities, displayed his character as a cyclist in a determined performance in Tobago last weekend at the Tobago International Classic. {{more}}Ollivierre placed first for Juniors and third Overall as part of a Vincentian team, which included Marlon Antrobus and Deptor Culzac. Trevor Sailor Bailey Chief Commissar for the event, who travelled along with Manager Oral Johnson, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Vincentian squad, especially with the performances of Ollivierre and Antrobus.

Bailey sees the cyclists’ performances as encouragement in view of the next Caribbean Cycling Championship fixed for St. Lucia October 16 and 17. A team of five riders will be chosen October 10 when the local association stages a 50-mile road race.

Nineteen countries have confirmed participation for that event.
