Special Olympians return with medals

Eleven of this country’s Special Olympians returned to St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday, July 14, after participating in the inaugural Special Olympics Caribbean Summer Games.
The event took place in Kingston, Jamaica from July 8 to 12.{{more}}
Members of the team participated in events such as track-and-field and bocce and came away with a total of 14 medals and three ribbons, among them four gold, four silver and six bronze medals.
Fifteen Caribbean countries participated in the games which are designed to give participants continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing gifts, skills and friendship with families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
