Bailey’s election was confirmed after Caribbean countries expressed support at the Caribbean Cycling Championships held in St. Vincent and the Greandines last October.
He replaces Ted Gray of the Cayman Islands, who has not been able to fulfill the role due to health reasons.
Cyril Mangal, public relations officer of the Caribbean Cycling Federation and president of the St. Lucia Cycling Association, expressed confidence that Bailey would ensure that the Caribbean´s interests are looked after.
He said that, “Bailey has been one to champion the cause of the Small Caribbean Federation and was at the forefront of the formation of the Caribbean Cycling Federation.”
