Tourism officials visit SVG schools

Another of the activities featuring in this year’s Tourism Week is Tourism School Visits. Members of Staff and of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association (SVGHTA) have been visiting schools throughout the state, presenting Tourism Messages to them.{{more}}

This activity began on Monday, November 17th, 2008 and continues throughout the week accordingly. Students are being addressed on careers in Tourism and their roles in Tourism Development. Tourism Education Officer – Marina Lampkin visited the St. Vincent Girls’ High School on Monday where she addressed a group of 160 students of Geography on Tourism careers and development.

The Ministry of Tourism has also received feedback from Visits in the Grenadines, such as a visit to the Paget Farm Primary School conducted by Julene Mcintosh. Gift items were given to students at the end of quizzes conducted.

The Ministry of Tourism is thankful to schools and industry professionals who are parting in this activity.
