Charter Week for Rotaract Club

The Rotaract Club of Kingstown is celebrating 21 years of existence.
âFellowship through serviceâ is the guiding statement of the organization and true to its motto, it has striven over the years to meet the needs of the Vincentian community through a wide range of activities.
Active in communities spanning the length and breath of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines, some of the projects that spring instantly to mind: feeding of the homeless, the annual Secondary Schools Spelling B competition, assisting children who have been abandoned by their parents, providing lunches to shut-ins including persons at the Louis Punnett home and rebuilding the homes of several elderly persons who lost their houses under unfortunate circumstances.{{more}}
To celebrate 21 years of being chartered, the Rotary Club is celebrating Charter week from March 11th-17th.
The week kicked off on Sunday with a church service at the Calliaqua Methodist Church. Activities to be held during the week include a Lecture to students of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School and the Bishop’s College Secondary School about the dangers of smoking. Other activities for the week are a lecture on Thursday on child abuse reporting protocol to be facilitated by Solicitor and Barrister at law Jaundy Martin and a fun day for members of the organization on Wednesday. The week culminates on Saturday with an International evening.
The Rotaract Club of Kingtown is a voluntary organization comprised of young men and women between the ages of 18 and 30 years. The organization is sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. Vincent and forms part of the wider body, which incorporates the Rotary Club of St. Vincent South, Inner Wheel Club and the Interact Clubs.
