Fort Charlotte is 200 Years Old
A ceremony marking the 200th anniversary of the construction of Fort Charlotte will take place tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at the fort.
The ceremony will include an address by the Hon. Rene Baptiste, Minister of Culture; a brief history of the fort by historian Dr. Adrian Fraser; military displays from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cadet Corp; cultural performances and the unveiling of a special banner and the modeling of 18th century attire.
WREATH LAYING-
The annual wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the death of 1st National Hero, paramount Carib Chief, the Right Excellency Joseph Chatoyer will be held next Tuesday March 14th, National Heroes Day.
The ceremony will take place at the Obelisk at Dorsetshire Hill beginning at 8:30a.m. It will include feature addresses by the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, cultural performances and a 21 gun salute.
