Wearing Sun Screen with Makeup
We all know the rule of thumb when it comes to sunscreen; Wear it all day, every day. And a lot of people think that if their skin tone is dark or they are on the younger end of the age scale that they don’t need it. But the sun ages all skin no matter what skin tone you may have and it is never too soon to start protecting your skin and getting into healthy face routines. However, that being said, the topic of using a sunscreen with makeup, especially with foundation, is not so cut and dry. The basics of using sunscreen with makeup are as goes.
l Before you start off with anything, make sure your face is clean. A mild cleanser that suits your skin would do wonders too.
- Take a bit of the sunscreen and apply all over the face and neck region. Try not to use too much of it. Otherwise, your makeup will begin to slide all over the place.
- Keep a tissue in hand to remove the excess.
Always start with clean prepped skin. Apply sunscreen to areas such as your forehead up to the hairline, your cheeks, jawline, nose and down your neck. You can use a primer if you want, but you can also skip this process if you wish.
If you are lucky enough to have a tinted moisturizer with SPF then you will be saved the expense and time of having to use sunscreen separately. Make sure that it matches you skin tone. After that is done, you can apply your foundation at this point. Complete your eye and lip look and finish off with a setting spray. There is a variety of products that you can use. Check around at the local beauty stores to make sure you get something that helps give you some sun protection so your skin doesn’t have to age like leather.
