How to cure those ashy feet

MANY TIMES, as we come to the end of our busy day, we remember to wrap or cover our hair, bathe and brush our teeth, moisturize our face ( I hope) and perhaps cream our skin. But many times we fail to realise the kind of attention our feet need.

The key to healthy feet would definitely have to be exfoliating and moisturizing. You must, I repeat, you must get rid of that dead skin and then moisturize the fresh skin underneath. I am going to give you some tips on how to keep your feet looking and feeling great.

Scrub your feet when you bathe. This quick method is one of the easiest ways to get rid of dry skin and keep your feet clean. A scrubbing brush is a must when you bathe at night.

If you have a pumice stone, or foot scraper, those will work too, but the bristles of the brush get between the toes and toe nails.

A thick moisturizer is necessary. I like to use the Jergens Ultra Healing Body Lotion. Another great moisturizer is Shea butter, or even olive or castor oil. Some persons even put on socks to help seal in the moisture overnight.

A good soak: Soaking your feet is not only good for removing dead skin, but it feels oh so good. You can combine 1/4 cup listerine (any kind), 1/4 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup of warm water and soak for 10 minutes, and see the dead skin just come right off. Another great foot soak is 1/2 cup Epsom salts, 1/2 cup sea salt, 1 cup baking soda, a few drops of lavender essential oils, mix together and place in a jar. Use 1/4 cup of the mixture in hot/warm water and soak your feet.

If you have your foot scrub kits and creams, then you’re set.

After you soak always remember to give it a good scrub, then moisturize. So let’s not neglect our feet and give them the love they need.
