How to deal with concealer creasing

Dear WOFTW,

I have a serious problem. Whenever I apply my make-up and concealer under my eyes, after a while it starts to crack and it makes me look old. How do I get that nice, flawless look with no cracks?

Please, help me.

No Cracks

Hey No Cracks,

I know exactly what you are talking about. Cracking or creasing is a major problem that many women face, especially under the eyes. Let’s start at the beginning. The under eye skin is very thin and cannot be treated like other parts of the face; you must be very gentle. The key to eliminating this problem is moisture. You need to start a night and daytime moisturizer regimen, if you don’t already have one.

Less is always more when it comes to that area, so do not apply anything other than a generous amount of your day moisturizer under your eye before your make-up application. Leave it a few minutes. Apply your concealer and make sure that your sponge or brush is damp (I prefer a sponge). Tilt your head down or look up and gently tap the concealer to cover the under eye area. Be very careful if you bake, because that can also dry out the under eye area; so, if you’re going to bake, then make sure the area is well moisturized. And there you have it.

I hope this helps.
