How to wear bright colours

Dear WOFTW,

I have quite a few ideas for some outfits that I would love to have made for different places, like work and going out, but I just don’t know if I can wear these colours, or if they are ok for work or even my dark skin. Can you help me with this dilemma? Thanks.

Dear Caribbean Queen,

Never be afraid of wearing a pop of colour in your wardrobe, whether it be at work or a casual/formal setting, light or dark skin. It’s all about how you wear it. Pairing the particular colours are key to a successful outfit. Contrasting colours/patterns help to tone down the bright colours and bring a general balance to your look. Be careful not to wear bright on bright though, as it may be quite visually confusing. If it’s neon, then I strongly suggest you leave it alone; that is not the kind of attention you need in life. I will give you a few ideas (at right) so you kind of get what I’m saying; I hope they are helpful for you.
