Taking God to work

If you were to be judged by your behavior in the workplace, would your coworkers know that you are a person with deep religious convictions?

Some CEOs who face day-to-day business problems are realizing that it’s time to take God to work every day.{{more}} They have discovered that the Bible provides practical advice in the areas of People Skills, Leadership, Employee Character, Conflict Resolution, Finance, Management and Stress. Conferences and power lunches are held monthly across the world, where business leaders are learning how to operate their businesses and obtain that Godly Advantage.

But why wait until you get the okay from your company to bring God into the workplace? In these times of terrorism, threats of war and job uncertainty, workers are already talking about God in the workplace. Many are taking it one step further and are applying the Bible’s wisdom to their daily operations.

For those who are a bit puzzled or skeptical about the practical wisdom the Bible provides, consider the following:

Communication Skills

Remember this one when you are about to gossip or speak unkindly of a coworker:

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29.

Customer Service

When customers get annoying or you don’t feel like working because it’s Friday afternoon, read this: “Whatever you do, you are to work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men…. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23

Management

Managers and supervisors must remember they are not superior beings. Instead, they are servants that should be dedicated to bringing out the best in their employees. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. . . . Mark 10:45

People Skills

For those who are not able to get along with select coworkers:

“And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven YOU.” Ephesians 4:32
