A TRIBUTE TO DAVID “BONO” BONADIE

Fri, Mar 2. 2012

BY (IVAN JESSAMINE)

Oh David my Friend, memories of you shall live with me until I die.

The bond of friendship we forged over the years, the good times we shared together will always be cherished and never be broken even in the face of death.

I always admired your unassuming character, it’s so simple and humble but yet decisive and firm, which made you special and matchless in so many ways.

I recalled the many times you opened your arms to embrace everyone without regard for status, color and class. The love and concern you showed to people in general will resonate in mind for a long time to come.

David, as I observed you over the years, it became quite clear to me that you had a deep and profound love, especially for children.

I recall also the many occasions you pushed your hand in your pocket and proceeded with your almost shy smile to give ‘a small change’ as you always refer to it, to children, especially those who belonged to vendors selling outside your supermarket. Such characteristics are quite rare in many people, and I believe you have received your reward from God, the Almighty, who has blessed you with such a gift.

Well done, my friend. Your accomplishments are immeasurable to say the least; so I bid you farewell, my friend, for you deserve now to sleep in quiet and peace. Until we meet on the other side bye and bye.
