Remembering Sheggy

Ahdrenalin Mas mourns the loss of our band mentor, designer and friend, the Legendary Edison âSheggyâ John.
From the time we approached Sheggy in 2007 with thoughts of forming a band, he was nothing but accommodating and encouraging. He was not heavy handed or set in old ways, but completely open to fresh ideas and concepts. He was inspiring and generous with his time, skill and workmanship. For Sheggy, nothing was too much trouble. Many a time when we ran out of material, we knew we could go and raid Sheggyâs stock of braid and glitters.
Sheggy was in the mas business for over 40 years building, designing and coordinating mas bands on a legendary scale. Ahdrenalin was able to benefit from his expertise in all of these areas, not least of which was his desire to share and teach the trade to our young and upcoming designers. Ahdrenalin is honoured to have been mentored by this legend. He has left an indelible mark on all its members
Our hearts and prayers go out to Tina and his family at this difficult time.
